ESI Details

How the Educator Support Initiative works

Two types of ESI educators - both available to member institutions.

Short-Term Coverage

Substitute Educators

Substitute educators post their availability on the FWS calendar. When you need coverage, you request a substitute and FWS matches you with an available, qualified educator.

Rate structure: Hourly rate applies for sessions up to 2 hours. A daily rate applies for sessions running longer than 2 hours. Rates are set cooperatively.

Semester Commitment

Regular Educators

Regular educators commit to a full semester contract with your institution. They teach on the same days and times each week, providing your program with stability and continuity.

Absence policy: If a regular educator is absent, a financial penalty is applied. FWS uses this to fund an FWS substitute so your program is never left without coverage.

Transparent Pricing

Full price first, then a clearly disclosed institutional concession - every figure drawn from the FWS platform pricing bands.
